LAN INDIGO RUG

Description

In its simple yet eclectic combination of minimalist patterns, hand-embroidered on a base of Glaoui fabric, lies the great appeal of this rug and the other elements that make up the Lan collection, designed by Chinese design studio Neri&Hu. Its dominant indigo color palette is where the series takes its name -Lan means blue in Mandarin.

In addition to this rug, the collection includes two sizes of modular seats, screens that may be used as backrests or dividers, and a pair of cushions, all of them featuring a different version of the embroidered graphics on the carpet. This unique design is the result of Neri&Hu’s interest in reviewing the functions of the traditional oriental screen as well as an exercise in deconstructing the usual format of a sofa.

In combination with the other pieces in the Lan collection, the rug undoubtedly contributes to reinforcing the sensation of cohesive “space”. It is, however, an element with independent decorative character and can be used separately. They come in four different sizes.
